The Hero Dragon Pig is a further development of our hybrid bait concept.
 
The voluminous head, which creates a massive pressure wave in the water, is designed similarly to our classic Hog and Hog Lite models. However, unlike traditional soft plastic lures used in spinning, the Dragon Pig features an ultra-light tail made from bucktail and various tying materials, just like those used in large pike streamers.
 
This results in several major advantages:
 
• With a length of 25 to 35 cm, this is a true big bait, yet it weighs only an incredible 45 to 60 grams (dry). This means you can cast it for hours without fatigue. 
 
• The ultra-light tail has an outstanding action in the water that cannot be compared to that of a soft plastic lure. 
 
• At the very end of the tail, a hook is attached, carrying an additional Dragon Tail. This adds an almost irresistible attraction for all predatory fish. The tail is extremely thin, allowing fish to inhale it effortlessly. Since the rear hook is positioned at the very end of the bait, missed strikes are virtually eliminated. 
 
• The Dragon Pig combines all the advantages of fly fishing with large streamers. Its lifelike swimming action is a key feature, yet it can be fished with a standard spinning or casting (baitcasting) rod. Because the center of gravity is located in the head, casting is effortless, and due to its unique construction, tangling is virtually nonexistent. 
 
• Unlike rubber tails, the bucktail tail is highly durable and withstands numerous pike attacks. The rear hook is attached with a split ring and semi-flexibly secured with a rubber sleeve, allowing for easy replacement if needed. 
 
The double version consists of two segments, while the triple version has three segments connected by joints. This creates an even more realistic swimming action compared to the single version.
 
Just like large pike streamers used in fly fishing, the bait is primarily tied with bucktail (a natural material sourced from the North American whitetail deer). We use only premium bucktail from the USA. The long fibers in the head move seductively in the water, adding extra attraction.
 
Both natural and UV-reactive color patterns are available.
 
At the core of the head is a laser-cut plate made from stainless steel 1.4571, which is saltwater-resistant. The Dragon Pig can be fished close to the surface or at any desired depth—simply attach a quick-change weight to the dedicated eyelet on the underside of the head.
 
Only high-quality components are used, all rated for a minimum load capacity of 35 kg.

Depending on the version, the Dragon Pig is equipped with our “Hero Anti-Tangle Spinner Hook.” This features a spinner blade mounted behind the front treble hook, creating additional flash and vibration.
