The Hero Huchen Mouse is an advanced development of our hybrid lures, designed for all large salmonids as well as big pike. It closely resembles a real mouse in appearance. The material used also mimics that of a mouse, as it is made almost entirely of natural hair and fur, with absolutely no rubber. The voluminous head, which creates a powerful pressure wave in the water, is built similarly to our other models. However, the Huchen Mouse does not feature a conventional rubber tail, like those used in typical spinning lures. Instead, it has an ultra-light tail made of rabbit fur strips (zonker stripes) and bucktail, consisting of three joints for incredible action in the water.
This design offers several major advantages:
· With a length of 22 to 30 cm, this lure is a true bigbait, but it weighs only an astonishing 20 to 40 grams dry. This means you can cast it for hours without quickly becoming fatigued.
· The zonker tail is mounted on a flexible stainless steel wire with a diameter of 1.6 mm, ending in a size 1/0 BKK LONESNIPER single hook attached via a split ring. The hook is concealed by featherlight rabbit fur strips. The zonker tail exerts an almost irresistible appeal to all predatory fish and moves seductively in the water with the slightest pull. This creates an even more realistic swimming action than a rubber trailer. The zonker stripes are ultra-thin, allowing the fish to easily inhale the lure. Since the rear hook is positioned at the very end of the tail, missed strikes are extremely rare.
· The Hero Huchen Mouse offers all the advantages of fly fishing with large streamers. Its fantastic and realistic swimming action is overwhealming. However, the Huchen Mouse can be cast with a regular spinning rod or baitcasting rod. Thanks to the lure’s center of gravity being located in the head, it is very easy to cast. The special construction also means the lure hardly ever tangles.
· Unlike a rubber tail, the tail is virtually indestructible and can withstand many fish strikes. The BKK LONESNIPER hook used is an extremely strong single hook that can be resharpened multiple times if needed.
Much like the large streamers used for pike fly fishing, the lure is mainly made of bucktail (a pure natural product from the tail hairs of the North American white-tailed deer) and rabbit fur. We use only premium bucktail from the USA. The long hairs on the head play enticingly in the water, creating an additional attraction. The core of the head features a laser-cut plate made from stainless steel, which is seawater-resistant.
The Huchen Mouse is primarily designed for surface-near fishing but can also be used at virtually any desired depth—just attach a quick-change weight to the specially provided eyelet on the underside of the head. Only high-quality components are used, all rated for a minimum load capacity of 35 kg.
Since bucktail is a natural product, slight color variations may occur even in standard models.
