The Hero Huchen Mouse II is the slightly smaller version of our proven Huchen Mouse and matches the original in both appearance and performance. It features an extremely realistic mouse imitation, making it a highly effective topwater lure for large salmonids such as huchen and trout, as well as trophy-sized pike.
The lure is made almost entirely from natural materials—primarily bucktail and rabbit fur—and contains no rubber at all. This results in a particularly natural and lifelike swimming action in the water.
Head & Action
The voluminous head creates a strong pressure wave during the retrieve, similar to our other models. Unlike conventional spinning lures, however, the Huchen Mouse II does not use a rubber tail. Instead, it features an ultra-light, two-jointed tail made from rabbit fur zonker strips and bucktail.
This design produces a lively, seductive action even with minimal retrieve speed or current.
Tail Construction
The zonker tail is mounted on a jointed stainless-steel wire (Ø 1.1 mm) and moves extremely realistically in the water. The ultra-thin zonker strips can be effortlessly inhaled by the fish.
Because the rear hook is positioned directly at the very end of the tail, missed strikes are reduced to an absolute minimum—a clear advantage over rubber trailers.
Fly-Fishing Feel on Spinning Tackle
The Hero Huchen Mouse II combines the benefits of large fly-fishing streamers with the castability of spinning or baitcasting rods.
Thanks to its head-weighted balance, the lure casts surprisingly easily and accurately. The special construction also ensures that the lure rarely tangles, even during aggressive retrieves.

The long fibers of the head move enticingly in the water and create additional attraction.
At the core of the head is a laser-cut stainless-steel plate (1.4571 / AISI 316Ti), making it seawater-resistant.
Application & Weighting
The Huchen Mouse II is designed primarily for near-surface fishing, but can easily be adjusted to fish almost any desired depth.
Simply attach a quick-change weight in front of the head using the dedicated front eyelet.
